Ladies Night Tonight
Once again the Friends of St Luke’s are hosting this popular event, please come along and join us with your family and friends tonight at 7.30pm in the school hall.
Freedom Of Information Notice
Guidance on where and how to obtain information held by St Luke’s School is available on the school website.
Jubilee Dinner
We will be inviting all the children to join us in a Celebration Jubilee Dinner on Wednesday 30th May. The cost of the meal will be £2.00 and the usual school menu will not be used that day. A letter regarding this meal was sent out earlier last week, please complete the tear off slip and return to school with payment ASAP if your child would like to take part.
Pupil Illness During Term Time
Please note that The Guidance on Infection Control in Schools states that it is recommended that children do not return to school for 48 hours following their last episode of any diarrhoea or vomiting. This would be classed as an authorised illness absence.
Anti Bullying Policy
The anti bullying policy is currently under review. If parents have any feedback regarding this please contact the school office. Copies of the policy are available on the school website or from the school office.
Olympic Torch
We have been asked by the Assistant Advance Manager for the Olympic Torch Relay to encourage as many local residents as possible to line the streets that the torch will travel along. Residents are also being encouraged to make maracas and shakers, hang bunting, bake flame ‘cone-cakes’, plant golden marigolds, dress up in gold and make some noise to welcome and celebrate the Olympic Torch.
Downloadable toolkits, posters and save the date cards are available from:
www.london2012.com/join-in/local-leaders/line-the-streets
People are also being encouraged to pass on how they will be celebrating by contacting TellTom@london2012.com.
If you are interested in becoming a Local Leader please contact www.london2012.com/localleaders
Please note that a separate letter has been sent out recently regarding the early closure of school on Thursday 31st May.
Early Closure of School on Thursday 31st May
As you will be aware school is closing at 2.45pm on Thursday 31st May, we would recommend that where possible parents/guardians walk to school to collect their children as we have been informed that there will be various activities going on along the route of the Olympic Torch.
Face Painting
Please return the face painting permission slips to school ASAP in order for your child to have their face painted on the Olympic Torch Day.
Donations For Samira
Please remember to send in your donations for Samira, just 10pence a week from each child in school makes a tremendous difference to Samira’s life. We would like to link this term’s Christian Value of Justice with Samira.
