Video: Mr Sheriff at the Summer Fayre

It was the St Luke’s summer fayre on Saturday July 3rd and one of the many attractions to help make it a fun day for all was a bucking bronco ride.

One person who couldn’t wait to show off his skills on the ride was Mr Sheriff. For anyone disappointed to have missed it or for anyone who just wants to see it again, we have a short video clip below:

Please note that from next week we would like the children to be in school for the usual time of 8.45am, as the weather forecast is looking positive. Children arriving after registration at 8.50am will be marked late.

We are still unsure of when the cycle path will re open but as soon as it is safe to do so the gates will be open.

School reopens Monday – important information

Dear Parents,

First of all I would like to thank everyone for their patience in the face of such extreme weather conditions. As you will understand, the safety of our pupils and staff is our greatest concern.

Weather permitting; school will be open tomorrow morning. Parents who are dropping off children for breakfast club must NOT use the school car park, as this is still unsafe. Please use the gritted footpath from the main road.

Children arriving for the normal school day should NOT arrive before 8.40am. All Infant children and children in Years 3 and 4 should then follow the gritted footpaths and go directly to their classrooms. Children in Years 5 and 6 should follow the footpath round the infant block, enter school through the front door and wait in the school hall.

The school playgrounds are unsafe as the compacted snow has become very icy and dangerous to walk across, therefore the children will not be allowed to play out at break and lunch times. Please do not let your children play on the school grounds before and after school.

The cycle path will remain closed until further notice.

Throughout the duration of these adverse weather conditions class registers will only be closed at 9.30am each morning. We would rather everyone arrives safely even if a little late.

At 3.10pm Reception parents only, are invited to walk down the gritted path and wait in the reception play area to collect their children. All other parents should collect their children from the main gate as normal.

Can I remind after school parents to not come down the drive as the school car park is very unsafe.

We all want the children to remain safe in these difficult conditions and thank you in anticipation of your cooperation.

Yours sincerely,
Mrs C Groves
Headteacher
