Well done year 3 for your fabulous assembly yesterday. Hats For Haiti On Friday 12th February we will be collecting donations for Haiti by holding a Hats for Haiti day. We would like to ask the children to come to school in a hat which they would be comfortable wearing all day. Please send donations in an envelope labelled “Haiti Donation”, if you would like to send a cheque please make this payable to St Luke’s School as we will be sending a single cheque from the school collection to the Haiti Disaster Fund. Class assemblies Tea and coffee are served in the infant library from 9am on the mornings of the class assemblies. Please feel welcome to join us and a seat will be reserved for in the hall to watch the assembly. 11th February – Year 1 25th February – Year 6 4th March – Year 2 11th March – Reception 18th March – year 5 DVDs of all class assemblies are available from school, please send £3.00 per DVD into school in an envelope labelled with your child’s name and which DVD they would like. Outstanding Payments Please could parents send any outstanding payments for dinners, snack, music and swimming into school ASAP. If you have any queries regarding these payments please contact the school office. School Gates The school gates will now be locked at 9.15am and opened at 3.05pm every day, if you need to enter school between these hours please use the front door. Robin Wood There will be a parents meeting on Tuesday 2nd March at 6pm in year 5 classroom pupils are invited. Lunch Boxes Could we please remind parents/carers that packed lunches should be sent into school in lunch bags/boxes and not in carrier bags and that any uneaten food should be taken home and disposed of. Unfortunately over recent months we have had a growing collection of carrier bags with food remnants left around the playground, not only is this unsightly but it also encourages vermin onto the school premises which is something we are keen to avoid. Could parents also label lunch boxes with their child’s name and remind them to bring them home in the evening. Friends Of St Luke’s The next Friends of St Luke’s meeting will be on Monday 8th March at 7pm in school. Football Training As Mr Sherriff has been away this week he will let the pupils know whether football training is on during next week on his return to school on Monday. Manor Adventure We would like to thank Mr Sherriff, Mrs Gildart and Mr Noble for escorting year 6 to Manor Adventure this week, everyone has had a fantastic time.
