Parking Following messages from local residents and parents walking to school, could we please remind all parents to be considerate to local residents when parking their cars, remembering not to block driveways or park close to road junctions as this obscures the vision of the roads for pedestrians and other drivers.

Snack Money Please could all snack money be paid via your child’s classroom, in order to avoid confusion over what children have paid for could individual children’s money be sent with them and not as a group payment with any brothers and sisters in other classes.
Reception Class Please could anyone picking children up from reception class after school wait outside the school gates as children must not be taken from the line whilst the class is walking round as this can cause confusion over where pupils are.

New Secondary School to be Established for Lowton and Golborne DWT has been appointed by the Department for Children, Schools and Families to manage and market new school competitions. One recently launched competition is for a new secondary school for Lowton and Golborne, which will be situated on the current site of Lowton Civic Hall, Hesketh Meadow Lane, Lowton WA3 2AJ.
On 14th January 2010, Wigan Council published details of one proposal received from Golborne and Lowton Co-operative Learning Partnership to set up this new school.
It is important that local people have the opportunity to express their views on this proposal. A public meeting is therefore being held at 7.30pm on Tuesday 26th January at the Banqueting Suite Leigh Sports Village Sale Way Leigh WN7 4JY.
The public meeting will give Golborne and Lowton Co-operative Learning Partnership an opportunity to present their proposal and members of the public the chance to ask questions and have their say.
Additional information is available on line at www.wigan.gov.uk/SchoolsforFuture.
