Diary for week commencing Monday 1st February 2010

It is week 1 of the NEW dinner menu.

THERE WILL BE NO FOOTBALL TRAINING THIS WEEK

Mon:
Woodwind/Guitar lessons.
Year 6 to Manor Adventure.

Thu:
Year 3 class assembly 10am.
Dance Club.

Tue:
Violin lessons.
Maths Can Be Fun 5-6.30pm.
Friends of St Luke’s Meeting.

Fri:
Piano/Keyboard/Brass lessons.
Year 6 home from Manor Adventure.

Wed:
Normal school day.
Year 3 swimming. 

 
 

 

Well done year 4 for your terrific Tudor assembly yesterday.

 

Class assemblies
Tea and coffee are served in the infant library from 9am on the mornings of the class assemblies.  Please feel welcome to join us and a seat will be reserved for in the hall to watch the assembly.

Superkidz
Year 2 had a wonderful time at the Superkidz event at Golborne High last Friday. Adam Taylor and Elyse Dutton won individual events and the class were joint runners-up overall. Well done year 2!

 

Year 1 Haigh Hall Trip

Well done year 1 for your fantastic behaviour yesterday at Haigh Hall.

 

 

Year 6 Parents

Please be aware that on Monday morning when you arrive to wave your children off to Manor Adventure that there maybe some heavy vehicles and equipment in the junior yard as the old boundary wall is being removed during this week for health and safety reasons.   

 

 

Hats For Haiti

On Friday 12th February we will be collecting donations for Haiti by holding a Hats for Haiti day.  We would like to ask the children to come to school in a hat which they would be comfortable wearing all day.  Please send donations in an envelope labelled “Haiti Donation”, if you would like to send a cheque please make this payable to St Luke’s School as we will be sending a single cheque from the school collection to the Haiti Disaster Fund. 

 

 

School Gates

The school gates will now be locked at 9.15am and opened at 3.05pm every day, if you need to enter school between these hours please use the front door.

 

 

Sex and Relationships Education Year 5

There will be an informal meeting on Tuesday at 3pm in the infant library to discuss the content of the lessons that year 5 will be having.

 

 

Robin Wood
There will be a parents meeting on Tuesday 2nd March at 6pm in year 5 classroom pupils are invited. 

 

 

Parking
Following messages from local residents and parents walking to school could we please remind all parents be considerate to local residents when parking their cars, remembering not to block driveways or park close to road junctions as this obscures the vision of the roads for pedestrians and other drivers.

 

 

Friends of St Luke’s
The next meeting will be on Tuesday 2nd February at 7pm in the Rams Head Pub – everyone welcome.

 

Found
A wedding ring has been found on Wood Sorrell Way please contact the school office if you know who this belongs to.

 

 

Christingle
The Christingle Service will take place in St Luke’s Church on Sunday 31st January at 10am - everyone welcome.
